Nine Winners Announced for Ottawa’s Small Business Awards on June 29

OTTAWA, ON, June 25, 2022 – Nine winners have been announced for the Zenbooks Smallbiz Awards of Ottawa, a celebration focused exclusively on Ottawa’s small businesses. The event will be broadcast live on Facebook on Wednesday, June 29, and be hosted by veteran broadcaster, Mark Sutcliffe.
“I’m excited to be part of the Zenbooks Awards again this year,” said Sutcliffe. “It’s so inspiring to see all the great work being done by so many amazing companies in Ottawa. I’m grateful to the team at Zenbooks for shining the spotlight on innovation and entrepreneurship.”
The finalists were judged by five expert judges, including Kayla Isabelle, CEO of Startup Canada.
“This year’s winners are fueled with relentless creativity, passion, and a commitment to sustainability, which is more important than ever,” said Isabelle. “Coming together to recognize the strength and tenacity of our community is essential to giving business leaders the recognition they deserve, especially in these challenging times. It was an honour to learn about their stories as a judge!”
The winners of each category are:
Brick & Mortar Smallbiz of the Year: One World Bazaar
Ecommerce Smallbiz of the Year: Riverwood Acoustics
B2B Smallbiz of the Year: Knock On Wood Communications & Events
Food & Beverage Smallbiz of the Year: Broadhead Brewing Company
Skilled Trade Smallbiz of the Year: Re4m Design and Fabrication
Tech Smallbiz of the Year: Plantaform Technology Inc.
Virtual Smallbiz of the Year: Somerset Health & Wellness Centre
New Smallbiz of the Year: Ogham Craft Spirits
Made-in-Ottawa Product of the Year: Chronic Letters
From these nine winners, the business whose application was the highest-scored overall by judges will also be awarded Ottawa Smallbiz of the Year, which comes with a $10,000 prize. This winner will be revealed at the end of the broadcast.
